What is
TOSA KURO-USHI?

TOSA KURO-USHI was born from “Kochi's Nature”

The main production areas of Tosa Kuro-ushi range widely, including Shimanto City and Shimanto Town, where the clear Shimanto River flows; Yusuhara Town, known for the Shikoku Karst and the nickname Town Above the Clouds; and Okawa Village, surrounded by mountains reaching around 1,000 meters in elevation. Raised in an environment surrounded by Kochi's lush, green nature, the cattle grow calmly and comfortably, free from stress.

TOSA KURO-USHI Is raised with “Rice Straw”

What matters most in raising Tosa Kuro-ushi is rice straw, left after the rice harvest. Rice straw is an essential feed for roughly 20 months, until the cattle are fully grown. Kochi's delicious air and water nurture the delicious rice we eat and the delicious rice straw that Tosa Kuro-ushi cattle eat.
